Prior to launching retrain.ai, Dr. Shay David and Isabelle Bichler-Eliasaf had both built and invested in successful companies. Dr. Shay David was a serial entrepreneur who co-founded Kaltura, an enterprise in the video platforms space, and software startups promoting open-source information and communication. Dr. Shay David also began studying the increasing global skills gap and the critical nature of upskilling and talent development.
Isabelle Bichler-Eliasaf was the co-founder Tohar, a placement company that pioneered the use of technology to source, screen, and find best-fit candidates. She envisioned the future of talent acquisition as one in which a data-driven focus on skills (rather than roles) would open up best-fit opportunities for employees and HR leaders.
Inspired to collaborate on a project that would bring about positive social impact, Dr. Shay David and Isabelle Bichler-Eliasaf began focusing on how structured, actionable data could help enterprises and organizations address the global skills gap while improving employability for all.
