Using AI to put people in the right jobs—from hire to retire.
The nature of work is changing in profound ways. Automation, emerging technologies and a post-pandemic “new normal” have fast-tracked a widening skills gap. Employers risk being unable to fill new positions and great employees risk being left behind.
Employers need accurate, real-time skills intelligence to prepare today’s workforce for the jobs of tomorrow. We solve this problem with the world’s leading AI platform for knowledge, skills and qualifications assessment, jobs and workforce retraining.
By leveraging the power of responsible artificial intelligence technology, we help employers manage talent more effectively while increasing productivity, reducing costs and improving the employee experience.
Prior to launching retrain.ai, Dr. Shay David and Isabelle Bichler-Eliasaf had both built and invested in successful companies. David was a serial entrepreneur who co-founded Kaltura, an enterprise in the video platforms space, and software startups promoting open-source information and communication. David also began studying the increasing global skills gap and the critical nature of upskilling and talent development.
Bichler-Eliasaf was the co-founder Tohar, a placement company that pioneered the use of technology to source, screen, and find best-fit candidates. She envisioned the future of talent acquisition as one in which a data-driven focus on skills (rather than roles) would open up best-fit opportunities for employees and HR leaders.
Inspired to collaborate on a project that would bring about positive social impact, David and Bichler-Eliasaf began focusing on how structured, actionable data could help enterprises and organizations address the global skills gap while improving employability for all.
When Covid hit, the skills gap exploded from a concern into an urgent global issue. In response, David and Bichler-Eliasaf launched retrain.ai in June 2020. That September, co-founder Avi Simon joined the leadership team after 25 years with the Israeli Defense Force, most recently as the organization’s Chief Data Officer. He also held CIO and CTO roles for the Israeli military intelligence corps, where he founded and commanded a number of R&D units specializing in utilizing Big Data for intelligent personnel placement.
Within one year of launching, retrain.ai raised $20 million in funding and grew to 50 employees. Today that number is climbing almost daily, with a global staff on two continents and clients across all verticals worldwide.
